Chromotherapy

What is Chromotherapy?

Chromotherapy, also known as Full Spectrum Light Therapy, is the use of light from the visible spectrum, think rainbow. It is used to improve moods, brain health, stress management, and chronic pain. Each color has its own frequency and wavelength that the body recognizes and responds to for improved health. The various colors in the visible light spectrum affect the mind, body, and emotions.

Chromotherapy has a long history of use in natural health settings. Ancient records indicate that color and light therapy were applied in ancient Egypt, India, Greece, and China. Current research has found that colored lights can have effects on our bodies, moods, and pain levels.

For example, light and color therapy is used to treat seasonal affective disorder (SAD), a type of depression that typically appears during late fall and winter. Blue light phototherapy is used in hospitals to treat neonatal jaundice that can affect babies.
